Try something new this year and make a dessert out of leftover Halloween candy.
I compiled a list of 10 different recipes I found, each one using various candies. To access the source, click on the image or link at the end of each recipe.
Caramel-Cookie Cheesecake Pie
2 8-ounce bars cream cheese, at room temperature
1/2 cup sugar
2 large eggs
22 Twix Fun Size Bars (16 grams each, about 2 3/4 cups total), chopped
1 8-inch chocolate cookie pie crust
Heat oven to 325º F. With an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese, sugar, and eggs on medium-high until smooth. Mix in 2 cups of the chopped Twix bars. Pour the mixture into the piecrust.
2 large egg whites
½ c sugar
With an electric mixer, beat 2 large egg whites (at room temperature) until foamy. Gradually beat in ½ cup sugar until stiff, glossy peaks form.
Nutella Monster Cookies
1/2 c. shortening (not butter!)
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. baking soda
4 1/2 c. oats
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. brown sugar
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. corn syrup
1 1/2 c. Nutella
1 package M&Ms
1 c. dark chocolate chips
Using the paddle attachment in a stand mixer, combine all ingredients except for the M&Ms and the chocolate chips.
Mounds Poke Cake
1- box, white cake mix, plus ingredients
1-14oz can sweetened condensed milk
8oz sweetened coconut
1/2 tsp coconut extract
4-6 mini Mounds candy bars, chopped into small pieces
Make cake mix according to box directions in a 9 x 13 baking dish. Bake according to box directions.
Peanut Butter Cereal Treats
30 large marshmallows
3 TB butter
1 TB peanut butter
6 cups Peanut Butter Crunch cereal
1-1/2 c milk chocolate M&M’s
In a large saucepan, combine the marshmallows, butter and peanut butter. Cook and stir over medium-low heat until melted. Remove from the heat. Stir in the cereal and M&M’s.
Pat into a 13-in. x 9-in. pan coated with cooking spray. Cool. Cut into bars. Yield: 2 dozen.
Harvest Snack Mix Recipe
2 cups pretzel sticks
1 cup mixed nuts
½ cup sunflower kernels
6 tablespoons butter, melted
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
8 cups popped popcorn
1 cup candy corn
1 cup chocolate bridge mix
In a large bowl, combine the pretzels, nuts and sunflower kernels. Combine the butter, cinnamon and cloves. Drizzle a third of butter mixture over pretzel mixture; toss to coat.
MVPeanut Butter Snickers Popcorn
10 cups of popped popcorn
1/2 tsp salt
8 oz bag of Snickers Bites, chopped
1/2 cup corn syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 cup salted & shelled peanuts
While your popcorn is popping, chop your bag of Snickers Bites. Set aside.
Toss your popped popcorn with the salt in a large bowl.
15 fun sized snickers bars, chopped
2 cups vanilla ice cream
1/3 cup milk
1/4 cup chocolate sauce
2 tablespoons caramel sauce plus more for drizzling, optional
1 cup sweetened whipped cream
1. Place 14 chopped snickers bars in a blender along with the ice cream, milk, chocolate sauce, and caramel sauce (if using).
Almond Joy Crescent Rolls
1 tube crescent rolls (8)
4 mini Almond Joy candy bars, cut in half to make 8 pieces
¼ cup milk chocolate chips
¼ cup toasted coconut
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray a cookie sheet with cooking spray.
Unroll the crescent rolls.
