eBay Targeted in Latest Data Breach

eBay, the popular online auction site, recently announced it was the target of a data breach approximately 2 months ago. The company reported the hackers were able to obtain customer names, encrypted password data, email addresses, physical addresses, phone numbers and birth dates. Extensive testing revealed that financial information was not be obtained. Financial information is stored on another network by PayPal. eBay is encouraging everyone to change their passwords.
