In Brett King’s book titled Bank 3.0, he describes three phases of banking. Over the years, the way that most people have done their banking has shifted from primarily using branches (1.0) to the internet (2.0) to mobile (3.0). Aspire FCU Pre-Approves $.5 mil in Loans in Four Hours

We pre-approved $549,631.50 worth of loans during our four-hour Pre-Presidents’ Day Auto Loan event on Saturday, February 11. To prepare members for Presidents’ Day Auto Sales, we opened our phone lines, online services, and doors (Clark, NJ and Jamaica, NY locations) for a special loan event, held from 8:00 a.m. – noon last Saturday. All members who were pre-approved during the event were mailed packets which contained their certificate of pre-approval; a Skip-a-Pay voucher, good for two free Skip-a-Pays; a Refer-a-Friend voucher, enabling the pre-approved member to let their family and friends in on great rates and prizes, and an additional incentive of $5 for each referred loan; a “Dealership Tips” sheet, which listed negotiating tactics and information on Aspire’s Member Showroom, which saves members an average of over $4,000 off MSRP on new vehicles; and an ice scraper giveaway. Don’t Let Merchants Throw Consumers Under the Bus

Aspire FCU is pleased to offer members a free, universally accepted, surcharge-free debit card. We’ve been able to extend that service to you free of charge because of interchange fees that merchants pay. This will change in July unless legislation pending in Congress passes. If merchants have their way, consumers will soon pay more for their debit cards and other services. Several major banks have already announced they will end their various reward programs, such as frequent flyer miles and free checking. Credit unions may be forced to do the same if interchange from merchants is limited. You can help protect Aspire’s ability to provide you and your fellow members with free, universally accepted debit cards and a wide array of other low cost, high value financial products and services by contacting your lawmakers in Washington to encourage them to support legislation (S.575, H.R. 1081).
