15 Scholarships Up for Grabs at Aspire

23It’s time to apply for our annual scholarship! Aspire’s Salvatore Perricone Scholarship awards $750 to 15 members that are either enrolled in or have been accepted to a full-time college or university. And it gets better – there’s no essay required! Applicants only need to submit a completed application and official transcripts or proof of registration.

Why the name Salvatore Perricone? Prior to 1997, the Salvatore Perricone Scholarship was called the “FAA Eastern Region Federal Credit Union (FAAERFCU) Scholarship”. The name was changed in 1998 to honor the passing of one of our directors, Salvatore Perricone. The Board of Directors at Aspire (previously FAAERFCU) felt that this would be a great way to remember Sal and thank him for his years of dedication to us and to the credit union movement.

We urge all members who meet the eligibility requirements to apply. You could earn a scholarship to help pay for tuition, books, or other college expenses. Visit www.aspirefcu.org to download our official application and eligibility requirements. Please note that applications are required and must be postmarked by September 30, 2012. We wish you luck!

If you’re looking for additional higher education financial assistance, we suggest looking into our Private Student Loan Program. Our low-cost student loan is designed to meet your needs. We offer competitive interest rates and generous terms. Plus, you’ll receive a 1.00% interest rate reduction once you repay 10% of the loan, and good grades get rewarded with even lower rates! You can borrow as little as $2,000 to as much as $30,000 per academic year. Visit www.custudentloans.org/aspirefcu/ for more information and to apply.

How do you plan to earn money to pay for college? Will you apply for scholarships, take our student loans, come up with a creative way to make money, or is your College Fund ready to go? Leave us a comment and let us know!
