Why should I join a credit union?

Credit unions are not-for-profit financial cooperatives, which means all earnings are returned to members in the form of better, low-cost financial services. Check out this guide or watch this video to learn more.

How do I access my account?

You can access your account from your computer via My CU Online. You also have the option to set up mobile banking or just call Member Services at 732.388.0477

I’m having trouble using online banking and/or eStatements. What’s wrong?

Typically when members have issues with interacting with our digital tools it has to do with cookies. Cookies will need to be enabled for online banking/eStatements to work properly.

How do I change my password?

You’ll find the link to change your password on the My CU Online login page.

Why do you need my updated contact information?

If we notice suspicious activity or another problem with your account, we’ll need to contact you! Having the best way to reach you will ensure the problem gets fixed more quickly.

What does ACH mean?

ACH stands for Automated Clearing House. ACH processes direct deposit and direct debit transactions electronically. Most ACH transactions come from payroll, online bill payment and mortgage repayment.

Why won’t my browser display your site?

How can I make deposits?

There are a couple ways to make a deposit; it all depends on which method you prefer. If you are looking for convenience, we offer mobile services for deposit. On our mobile application you can deposit checks up to $10,000 at a time.

If you prefer to deal with a person directly then you can visit one of our affiliate/sister branches where you can access your Aspire account directly for deposit purposes.

Why isn’t my direct deposit available immediately?

Availability of direct deposits relies mostly on when they are processed by your respective employer. In most cases, this process takes 2-3 business days. However, employers account for this time making your direct deposit available on your actual pay date.

If we receive your direct deposit earlier than your pay date, we may post the funds to your account early for your convenience, but the funds are not guaranteed to be in your account until the actual pay date of that deposit.

How much can I withdraw at the ATM?

You can withdraw $1,500 per 24 hour period.

Why is there a hold time when I call in?

First and foremost, we give all our members the attention they deserve and make sure all questions, transactions and/or issues are resolved. We’ll give you the same attention, too!

We’ve also recently lowered our auto loan rates and have been happily surprised by the overwhelming response from our members. This did contribute to the delay in answering our members’ calls, and we apologize for this inconvenience.

How do I change my Debit Card PIN?

Simply dial 866.985.2273 and follow the prompts. The system is an automated system that will activate and/or change your PIN number once it verifies your identity and card information.

Since you only have one branch, how can I bank with you?

We do only have one Aspire branch; however we have affiliations with over 5,000 credit union locations Nationwide where you can bank. You can find one near you here. This is what’s known as shared branching.

We also have our mobile app where you can deposit checks up to $10,000, with availability within two business days.

Is Shared Branching Safe?

Yes, shared branching is safe. It is a sister credit union that participates in the shared branching network. It’s just as safe as doing your banking in an Aspire branch.

Are there any fees at a Shared Branch?

Most common transactions do not have an associated fee however, traveler’s checks, cashier checks and money orders may; members would be subject to the Shared Branch’s current fee schedule. Additional services, if offered, such as notary services may also have a fee.


How do I qualify for a loan with Aspire?

Must be 18 years old, US Citizen, and have a stable income. After filling out an application, our underwriters will review your information to determine eligibility.

Why can’t I find out right away if I’m approved for my loan?

We try not to keep you waiting too long; most loans are approved within 24-48 hours.  All applications need to be reviewed by the underwriters and sometimes there is additional information we need to help make the decision on the loan.

Why do I have to be joined on a loan just because I’m on a joint membership?

Each loan is attached to a membership account. If you would like to open an individual loan, you can do so by opening a separate account.

What steps should I take in repairing my credit?

In order to repair your credit we have a wonderful program in place called a “Credit Report Review.” One of our knowledgeable staff will review your credit report and give you tips on how to improve the score. We also have a Credit Builder loan, where you actually are paying the loan first, and once the loan is paid in full, we advance the money to you. It is really a loan in reverse!


What is Cross Collateral?

Cross collateral is when the Credit Union can repossess a member’s automobile if the member has another loan (auto, personal, etc.) that is delinquent. The Credit Union can also transfer money from any share account to offset a delinquent loan or negative share account.

Why can’t I change my loan due date?

Due to federal regulations, we set a payment date for both unsecured loans and lines of credit.

How is my loan payment applied?

The interest is satisfied then the remainder of the payment is applied to the principal balance.

What are the benefits of being a member of Aspire?

Are there any fees associated with joining the credit union?

All we ask is for a $5 initial deposit which buys you a share within the credit union; this makes you one of our wonderful members.

Do I have to be a part of something to join the Credit Union?

You can join the credit union by a family member or employer referral.

Can my friends and family members join Aspire?

Yes, your friends and family are eligible to join.  Family members may join because of their relationship with you.

Any of your family or friends may apply for membership right through our website.

What products and services do you offer other than loans?

Aspire Federal Credit Union is a full-service financial institution, and as such offers savings, checking, money market accounts, as well as share certificates, holiday and vacation accounts! You may apply for membership right on our website.
